Superman-Jerry Siegel and Jack Burnley-1940

Some absolutely gorgeous art on this 1940 SUPERMAN story from birthday boy Jerry Siegel and (ignore the "Joe Shuster" signature) Jack Burnley, my all-time favorite Golden Age artist on SUPERMAN. The only thing I can't figure out is why the Man of Steel's \S/ shield keeps disappearing from one panel to the next.

Great stuff! The panel on page three with the policeman reacting to the globe is rendered particularly well.
